??? Australian Stem Game Design Competition 2023 (Idea)

Alright.. Let's get this straight. I am not going to join the competition for these reasons:

I had an idea... A good idea. Because the theme for this year is construction and destruction, I thought why not try and come up with an idea. So now we are here and my idea is a build and defend game.

Story: There is an (Alien*. Added 3/08/2023) robotic apocalypse that has overcome the made up town of Hotolit (in 2053) and canonically there are 3 survivors (and exception now being the NPCs. Added 3/08/2023) (called "the redeemers") who keep the Araus alive. (Hotolit is the last place on earth that has not been destroyed by the roamers (roamers name is now "The Abarrent". Added 3/08/2023))

Main gameplay: In a build and defend game, you must have these components; Building, Weapons, Something to defend and enemies. I want to go a bit further and add: Waves, A small bit of open world and side quests.

Building and the Araus: I do not believe that building should be limited to just floors and walls but too much just becomes confusing, so i have devided building into 3 sections:
